Planning a private Lake Como boat tour for 7 to 11 guests

A different job from a tour for two
A private boat for seven to eleven people is a different planning job from a tour for a couple. The boat is booked for your whole group, so the first task is not choosing a route but agreeing who is actually coming. This guide walks through the decisions that matter for a larger party: getting the head count right, understanding how the group size enters the price, choosing where everyone boards and keeping the day realistic.
Get the head count right first
Count every passenger, including children and anyone who will only join for part of the day. The online booking accepts up to 11 guests per private tour; if your party is larger than that, contact us before booking rather than splitting the group yourself. Confirm the number once with the organiser of the trip, and if it may still change, plan for the higher figure: the guest count you enter is the one the summary is calculated for.
How group size enters the price
VABA prices private tours per boat. The standard rate covers one to six guests; from seven guests, a supplement of €50 per hour of tour is added, once for the whole boat, not per person. As an illustration at the standard rate with boarding in Como, a two-hour tour totals €500 for six guests and €600 for seven, and the same seven-guest total applies up to eleven. A three-hour tour for eight guests totals €950. These figures come from the same rules as the booking page, but your exact amount depends on date, duration and pickup, so read the live summary before paying.
One boarding point for everyone
Choosing one boarding point for the whole party saves the most time. Boarding in Como is included, and some pickup points near Como are too; others further along the lake carry a surcharge and need extra transfer time, which the booking page builds into the available departures. If the group is split between hotels, agree to meet at one landing rather than planning several pickups. A private hotel landing always needs confirmation, so ask before assuming the boat can stop there.

With more people, small delays add up: one late arrival holds everyone. Share the confirmed meeting point and departure time with the whole group in advance, ask everyone to arrive a little early and keep bags small. If anyone has limited mobility, tell us before paying so boarding can be discussed honestly. Remember that a tour views villas from the water; entrance tickets, meals ashore and stops for other activities are not included unless agreed. If you want a particular stretch of shoreline or a photo moment for the whole group, mention it when booking so the skipper can fit it into the duration you chose rather than promising everything in one outing.
From plan to booking
Once the head count and boarding point are settled, open the booking page, choose the tour first and then a date and time that are actually free. The summary shows the total for your group, the 30% deposit paid online and the balance due on the day. Our page for groups of up to eleven describes which boats and tours suit a larger party.
